Not a precise solution to your case but I think it could be a good alternative. I was using Obs yesterday and I found out if you delay your mic while using the push-to-talk button feature, your mic audio will be cut off in the wrong places, where in the times where you want the mic to be muted it will be not and vise versa.

There's an on/off button on the mic itself, in case I need privacy, but its a reach. I think its a good solution if you don't mind streaming all audio to the stream while keeping only the correct audio on the voice coms. If there is a way to bind it manually id gladly do it :) EDIT: I fount that there is a way by going into 'profiles' folder and change the value to 'PushToTalkHotkey16'. Like shift + other key works but only shift does not. These features can be useful for streams and content creators. Id like to ask if it was possible to add 'Shift' as a selectable Hotkey for push to talk.
#PUSH TO TALK IN OBS HOW TO#
None of the latter gets sent to the in-game voice comms, but I think it is nice in a stream. This video will show you how to enable push to talk, and push to mute, in OBS.

I also "color commentary" (to myself, as practice for when I'm going to actually stream). It hears (faintly) my key and mouse clicks, hears me talking under my breath when command gives really dumb orders, hears me yell when PS2 crashes to desktop, etc. The other, sitting right next to the first, is connected to my streaming computer running OBS, and it records everything. One is connected to my game computer, which I use push to talk to communicate with my squad/platoon (Planetside 2). I use a second PC for streaming (although until my internet connection and second computer are both upgraded, I'm only using it for recording to disk, the concept is the same), and I just have two USB microphones on my desk.
